Gynaecological Oncology MDT

Professor Kehoe graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1983 and trained as a Gynaecological Oncologist in Birmingham. He is a past President of the British Gynaecological Cancer Society, a Senior Research Fellow at St Peters College Oxford and a Trustee of the charity OVACOME. He has worked at consultant level since 1997 and his main research interests are in ovarian and vulval cancers.

He was lead for the CHORUS trial, which has influenced change in the care of women with advanced ovarian cancer in the UK and abroad. He is involved with international societies, is on the editorial boards of journals, has many peer-reviewed publications and is invited to lecture at numerous societies throughout the world.

Mr Moiad Alazzam is a recognised expert in complex gynaecological surgery both open and minimally-invasive, including laparoscopy, robotics and hysteroscopic surgery.

Moiad is an experienced ultraradical surgeon for advanced and recurrent ovarian cancer with complete cytoreduction rate over 80 percent. Moiad has a special interest in microsurgery and fertility-preserving surgical techniques. Since moving to Oxford he has joined the regional service for Abnormal Invasive Placenta (AIP).

Moiad is actively involved in research. He is widely published and frequently invited to speak at national and international meetings. His main area of interest is health innovation and technology. He is a member of several national and international societies, a previous council member of British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) and has chaired the guidelines and robotics subcommittees.

Mr Hooman Soleymani majd is a highly skilled consultant in gynaecological oncology at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford, a position he has held since 2017. He began his obstetrics and gynaecology career in London and completed his structured postgraduate training in Oxford, obtaining a certificate of completion of training and membership in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He further honed his expertise with three years of sub-specialty training in gynaecological oncology at the Oxford Cancer and Haematology Centre.

A BSCCP-accredited colposcopist and trainer, Mr Soleymani Majd is a member of the British Gynaecological Cancer Society (BGCS), International Society for Placenta Accreta Spectrum (IS-PAS) and the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO). He is an accomplished surgeon, with particular expertise in ultra-radical surgery for advanced ovarian cancer, including upper abdominal surgery, liver mobilisation, and diaphragmatic reconstruction. He also has a dedicated interest in the surgical management of Placenta Accreta Spectrum (PAS) and is a founding member of the OxPAT group. Additionally, Mr Soleymani majd is a member of the Oxford Complex Pelvic Surgery (exenterative surgery) and Sarcoma teams.

Beyond his clinical expertise, Mr Soleymani majd is deeply committed to medical education, mentoring registrars, fellows and students at the University of Oxford. He is involved in research on advanced surgical techniques for ovarian cancer, with multiple publications on the subject in leading journals. He has also commissioned a special series of high impact articles on 'Evolutions in the management of advanced ovarian cancer' for the Gynaecology and Pelvic Medicine Journal.

He has a number of past and ongoing collaborations with acclaimed researchers in the United Kingdom and abroad. He has authored book chapters and published prolifically in high impact peer-reviewed journal through the years. He is the co-editor for a new Oxford Surgical Handbook, which is being written and will be published in due course by Oxford University Press. An invited speaker at numerous international congresses and webinars, he serves on the editorial boards of four international journals and has recently been appointed associate Editor-in-Chief of Translational Cancer Research (TCR).

Mr Soleymani majd serves as a visiting Professor at Guangxi Medical University Cancer Hospital in Nanning, China. In addition to his NHS work, he sees private patients at Nuffield Health, the Manor Hospital and between 2021 and 2024, he was awarded the iWantGreatCare certificate of excellence for outstanding patient care. Mr Soleymani majd is passionate about teaching, research and committed to delivering the highest standards of patient care.

Dr Gupta completed her specialist training in Oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India (2016) and pursued a Clinical Research Fellowship in Gynae-Oncology (including brachytherapy) at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto, Canada (2018-2020).

She was appointed as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist in 2022 and worked at different London centres before being appointment to the current post in 2024.

She specialises in the treatment of gynaecological cancers, treating patients with radiotherapy, Image Guided Adaptive Brachytherapy (IGABT) using high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy.

She has a keen interest in brachytherapy and clinical and pre-clinical research. She is widely published in peer reviewed journals and frequently attends national and international meetings. She is involved in national and international clinical trials including endometrial and advanced cervical cancers.

Dr Horne graduated from Queens University Belfast and completed her specialist training in Clinical Oncology in the Oxford training scheme. She was appointed as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Cancer Centre in 2004.

She specialises in the treatment of gynaecological cancers, treating patients with radiotherapy, Image Guided Adaptive Brachytherapy (IGABT) using high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, and chemotherapy.

Dr Trent graduated from the University of London and completed her specialist training in Clinical Oncology in the pan-London training scheme. She was appointed as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Cancer Centre in 2006.

She specialises in the treatment of gynaecological cancers, treating patients with radiotherapy, Image Guided Adaptive Brachytherapy (IGABT) using high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, and chemotherapy.

Dr Roux trained in South Africa before embarking on a career in the UK.

She completed her specialist training in London after undertaking a period of research at the Institute for Cancer Research and joined the team in Oxford in 2016. She specialises in the systemic treatment of patients with ovarian and other gynaecological cancers.

She is the Principal Investigator for several national and international clinical trials including ovarian, endometrial and advanced cervical cancers. She is also interested in the use of novel agents and treatment combinations in ovarian cancer including PARP inhibitors and other targeted agents.

She is Gynaecology research lead for the Thames Valley Cancer Research Network.
