Many of our clinicians are involved in leading edge research to ensure that breakthroughs in the laboratory bring about clinical benefits as soon as possible.
Cancer Research UK, the Medical Research Council (MRC) and the University of Oxford have made major investments on the Churchill site, including the new Cancer Research Institute and the Radiobiology Research Institute.
Research is carried out into the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of cancers. Where appropriate, patients are invited to take part in clinical trials under carefully monitored conditions.
Patients who come to the Oxford Cancer and Haematology Centre have rapid access to new treatments and procedures and the opportunity to take part in clinical trials.
The Centre includes dedicated inpatient beds for patients who choose to be involved in these trials.
