Research
The Oxford Centre for Genomic Medicine (OxGEM) clinical genetics service has a long history of leading and supporting genetic research.
The department has strong links with the University of Oxford and the NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre, with a focus on promoting and funding translational genetic research projects.
We are actively involved in recruiting patients for local and national exome and whole genome sequencing projects. We also work with international collaborators.
Several honorary academic consultants and many consultants in the team have been able to pursue their research interests, or have developed specialist clinics.
