Sandy Hayes

Congratulations to the "extraordinary" Sandy Hayes, a Senior Nurse Specialist in Sickle Cell Disorders, who was presented with a DAISY Award in her last week at OUH before retiring.

The nomination was made by Funmi Dasaolu, a patient of Sandy's, who expressed her gratitude for the exceptional support and expert clinical care she received over the years which has made such a positive impact on her life.

She said: "Sandy is one of a kind. I will be forever grateful to Sandy for her help, care and support."

As an OUH nurse herself, Funmi also described how Sandy "motivates, inspires, and encourages me to provide my patients with the same high quality, excellent, compassionate care she has provided me. Sandy truly is extraordinary".

Good luck for the future, Sandy, and thank you for all that you have done to deliver compassionate excellence at the Trust.
