The Optimise Pain Rehabilitation Unit provides various programmes and treatment on an individual basis. The programmes are graded to provide rehabilitation for people with moderate levels of disability and low distress through to high levels of disability and distress. The programmes offer varied intensities of activity to suit the ability of participants.
Meaningful goals are developed in partnership with patients with a view to improving activity levels. An acceptance-based approach is used in the Balanced Life Programme and Get Back Active utilises psychologically-informed education and treatment approaches bsed on cognitive behavioural principles. The Compassion for Pain Group uses principles of compassion-focused therapy.
The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre has been offering pain rehabilitation since the year 2000.
