Mr Chrishan Thakar BSc MBBS MRCS FRCS (Tr&Orth) MSc
Chrishan is a Fellowship-trained Spinal Surgeon able to offer an opinion on all aspects of spinal surgery with a subspecialty interest in paediatric deformity.
He currently sits as Clinical Lead for Spinal Surgery at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Chrishan completed his Orthopeadic training in Oxford in 2016. Appointed as a Consultant in 2018 following completion of Fellowships in Oxford, Stoke Mandeville and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospitals along with visiting Fellowship to Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore in India.

Mr Nicholas Beresford-Cleary

Mr Bedansh Roy Chaudhary MRCS MSc FRCS(N/Surg)
During his 20 years of medical training, Mr Chaudhary has been affiliated with and trained in universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College and University of Toronto.
His Neurosurgical Spinal Registrar / Residency programme was undertaken at Addenbrooke's Hospital where he was also the Chief Resident for Neurosciences.
Before his consultant appointment, he undertook a complex combined Neurosurgical and Orthopaedic Spinal Fellowship at the Toronto Western Hospital, Canada.

Mr Sean Grannum
Mr Grannum completed his training in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery on the East Midlands Deanery rotation in 2011.
Following completion of advanced specialist spinal training he has worked as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at North Bristol NHS Trust and now works at Oxford University Hospitals.

Professor Chris Lavy OBE MD MCh FCS FRCS
Prof Lavy is Professor of Orthopaedics and Tropical Surgery at the University of Oxford.
He is involved in research and teaching in global issues in surgery.

Gerard Mawhinney BSc (Hons) MSc SCP (Tr & Orth) NMP RN MFPCEd
Mr Mawhinney is a registered adult nurse and independent prescriber with over 20 years' clinical and commercial experience in spinal surgery, and an active member of the Faculty of Perioperative Care of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Mr Mawhinney has completed advanced clinical training in Surgical Care Practice (Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery). He is currently the Research and Innovation Lead and Principal Spinal Editor for the Association of Surgical Care Practitioners.
Alongside his clinical role, Gerard is studying for a DPhil in Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Oxford.

Mr Colin Nnadi MBBS FRCS(Trauma & Orth)
Mr Nnadi is a Consultant Spine Surgeon and Clinical Director for Neurosciences at the Oxford University Hospitals.
He was Clinical Lead for Spine Surgery at Oxford University Hospitals from 2017 to 2023. He is fellowship trained and offers opinion on all general spine conditions.

Mr Jeremy Reynolds MBChB BSc (Hons) FRCS(Trauma & Orth)
Mr Reynolds graduated from Bristol University with basic surgical training in Bristol and Surrey, and subsequently as a Specialist Registrar in Oxford. Prior to his appointment as a consultant he completed a 12 month fellowship in Vancouver, Canada.
He is the lead consultant for Oxford’s Bone and Soft Tissue Tumour Service and has developed the regional pathway for tumour associated spinal cord compression.

Elaine Buchanan
Mrs Buchanan trained as a Chartered Physiotherapist in Edinburgh, graduating in 1988 and completed an MSc in Cardiff in 2000. She was appointed as a Consultant Physiotherapist for Oxford Spinal Surgery Unit in 2004.
She is a member of the NHS England Spinal Services Clinical Reference Group and future president of the Society for Back Pain Research.
She is the founder and past chair of the National Back Pain Pathway - Clinical Network and previously sat on many national groups including: NICE, UKSSB, Spinal Task Force and the Improving Spinal Care project.

Alison West BSc (Hons) NMP MCSP
Alison is a Chartered Physiotherapist, having completed her training at the University of Southampton in 2008.
She subsequently specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, and has worked in advanced practice roles within MSK services in London.
She joined the Oxford University Hospitals Spine Team in 2021 and primarily sees adult patients with spinal pathology.
She is an independent prescriber trained in injection therapy, and is completing an MSc in Advanced MSK Physiotherapy.

Holly Carrington BSc (Hons) MSc SCP (Tr & Orth) MCSP
Holly trained as a Chartered Physiotherapist in London, graduating in 2009, and specialised as a Neuro-orthopaedic Paediatric Physiotherapist in the Oxford Children's Hospital in 2013.
Holly was appointed to the Paediatric Spine Team in 2022 and has completed advanced clinical training and a Masters in Surgical Care Practice (Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery).
